1. Cobble Hill
Elevation: 2,332 feet
Distance: 2.2 miles round-trip
About: A great hike for the whole family with nice views of Lake Placid village on the way up and great views of the High Peaks from the summit make this a wonderful hike.
2. Mt. Jo
Elevation: 2,876 feet
Distance: 2.6 miles round-trip
About: One of the most popular hikes in Lake Placid for good reason. You can see many major High Peaks for a minimal effort, as well as beautiful Heart Lake.
3. Baxter Mountain
Elevation: 2,440 feet
Distance: 2.4 miles round-trip
About: An excellent hike for the whole family. Easy to moderate terrain and switchbacks make this trail an excellent peak early in the challenge to prepare your lungs for the hikes to come. Excellent views from rocky ledges at the top, plus blueberries in season.
4. Mt. Van Hoevenberg
Elevation: 2,940 feet
Distance: 4.4 miles round-trip
About: This summit offers unique views that can not be matched.
The summit overlooks many high peaks including the Macintyre Range, Marcy, Colden, Big Slide, Street, Nye, and others as south meadows sits in front of them making for one of the best views for fall foliage in the entire Adirondack Park.
5. Big Crow Mountain
Elevation: 2,815 feet
Distance: 1.4 miles round-trip
About: Excellent views of Hurricane Mountain and 28 different high peaks!
6. Bear Den Mountain
Elevation: 2,650 feet
Distance: 4.5 miles round-trip
About: This peak is a hidden gem in the Adirondacks offering unique views of the popular Whiteface Mountain and it's region.
7. Pitchoff Mountain
Elevation: 3,500 feet
Distance: 5.2 miles round trip.
About: The trail enjoys lookouts throughout the hike. The summit is wooded with some look out views. Stopping at the Balanced Rocks is a must.
8. Catamount Mountain
Elevation: 3,169 feet
Distance: 3.6 miles round-trip
About: Arguably the most challenging peak of the 9'er roster due to it's steep climbs. This peak has it all from rock climbs, scrambling, chimneys, false summits, and astounding 360° views.
